Jack studied at the University of Manchester. His dissertation thesis titled 鈥楾he sedimentary architecture of the Kinder Scout palaeodelta, a fluviodeltaic succession of the Namurian Pennine Basin鈥 received the 2023 BSRG Undergraduate Sedimentology Award. Some findings of this work were presented at the 2024 BSRG AGM in a talk titled 鈥楳echanisms of mouth bar growth and progradation in deltas building into 鈥渄eep鈥 water鈥. At 今日吃瓜 he has worked on clastic sedimentology and the mapping of Quaternary deposits.
